Every cause needs a victim

Have you ever noticed the left always has to find a victim? Think about it, whenever anyone on the right opposes something they support, the first thing the left does is find a group who can be the victims. They can always find a group to be a victim, even if they have to invent one.

Look at the Show Id to Vote initiative here in Massachusetts. This is an initiative to require all voters to produce a picture ID when they vote. It is simply a way to make sure there is no voter fraud, by anyone. Yet, the left oppose this because they say certain groups of people will be disenfranchised because they won’t have ID’s. If the law only required Hispanics or one armed leprechauns to show ID then it would be discriminatory, but it’s not, it is asking everyone to show their ID. The problem is the left can’t argue the principle of the initiative, which is protecting the integrity of the vote so they have to make someone a victim.

It is the same with the Secure Communities Act. This act adds an extra step when someone is arrested for a felony, the step being to send the fingerprints of everyone who is arrested for a felony to INS to see if these people are wanted for any crimes in their own countries. The left says this is just a way for the Police to send illegal aliens back to their countries, and the Police will use this as a way to round up anyone they think is illegal. Again, they can’t argue with the logic of the bill, which is to send the fingerprints ONLY of people who have already been arrested for a felony. They are being booked for a serious crime they are not being pulled over for any reason, they have already been arrested. It is only the criminals which need to worry. But the left insists this is racist and innocent people will be victims.

Have there been cases where laws were made to discriminate against individual groups? Absolutely, look at the so called “Jim Crow” laws which definitely discriminated against blacks. But these kinds of laws aren’t made any longer, even though the left wants everyone to think they are.

One can certainly argue the point that the left, with all their special treatment or different groups has and is making discrimination more prominent than ever before. They continue to pass laws in the name of equality, which end up singling out groups instead of melding them together. True equality is when everyone is treated the same without it being legislated.
