It's Not Just About Obama/Romney

Many in the tea party movement have seemed to forgotten all about local races, whether state wide or national. In 2010, almost every US Congress seat in Massachusetts was contested. True, we didn't win, but we certainly came closer than anyone would have thought. Why wasn't there ANY challengers in some of the districts? Is anyone running against McGovern, Neal? And how much do we really hear about the races which are contested? We hear plenty on Brown/warren (more on this later) but do we hear about Bielat/Kennedy? Tierny/Tisei? Tsongas/ and whoever is running against her?

As we inch closer and closer to election day, once again I feel the need to vent against some of my  tea party members, on both the state and local levels.

Now I know there are some out there who read this blog who will use this as a springboard claiming the tea party is all done and disintegrating, which is far from the truth. In fact the core tea party movement is probably stronger than ever.

These are all important races. We need to get control of the House no matter who is elected president. As stated by another blogger, these races are important too.

And then there is Brown/Warren. Many of my fellow Massachusetts tea party members refuse to support Brown. Do they really believe that Elizabeth Warren is a better choice? Fine, Brown hasn't always voted the way you would like but even if he only voted the "Republican" way 50% of the time, that is still 50% more than Lizzy the wooden indian ever will. I hear on local talk shows how everyone is disappointed on how Brown has voted, how they stood holding signs for him in the cold and rain, blah, blah, blah, well would Marsha, Marsha, Marsha "technically it isn't illegal to be illegal in Massachusetts" Coakley have been a better choice? Personally if I had enough gas in the car to get to Worcester I would take the Brown bus from there to Springfield and hold a sign for Brown in the rain today at the debate.

Yes, Obama needs to go but so don't the other career politicians, the Tierney's, the Tsongas' and although he isn't in yet, the Kennedy's, need to go. The change starts here and now, from the bottom up.
