Easy Choices Come November

Things are heating up in the political as we get closer to the November 6 elections. While here in Sturbridge there are no state races, right next door in Southbridge there is a contest for the Sixth Worcester District between incumbent Peter Durant (R-Spencer) and Kathleen Walker (D-Charlton).
I talked to Peter not long ago and he is hoping to double his margin of victory this time. As we recall Peter won by, depending on who was counting, 2,4, 1, 6, votes. So he should be good with a 12 vote margin.

I've noticed a new trend in many races here in Massachusetts this time. Walker used this in her debate and in an article in the News. I've seen at least two different television ads recently as well doing the same thing. I call it showing your ignorance, others call it demonizing the tea party movement. Walker called Durant a member of the tea party member on her Facebook page:

Kathleen Walker for State Representative Glad it is over, but lots of fun - everyone said I did we'll and, although I'd like to agree, can see lots of places that need improvement. Plenty of interesting conflict with tea party people who felt aggrieved by some of my assertions. I wasn't absolutely positive he was with the tea party up to now - they removed all doubt tonight

And in the closing statement of her first debate with Durant she called us radical extremists. Throw us all in jail damn it.

Looking at her Facebook page shows all the usual lefty  endorsements, the teacher's union, the AFL-CIO, Mass NOW and on and on. You know, the "People". All I can say is I you really want someone who votes for the people, the real people, vote for Durant.

Then there is the Brown/Warren race. You know this is the race between the make believe Indian and the Republican who is sometimes a Democrat, but not really. As anyone who has read this blog knows i am, and continue to be a Brown supporter. He has done what he said he was going to do, putting the residents of this state first, before party affiliation, and it is too bad we don't have more like him in office. In this race you really have two clear choices:

  • Vote for Brown and have someone who will do what is right for Massachusetts and its citizens.
  • Vote for Warren and have someone who could care less about what is good for the state but instead will vote in lockstep with the Democrats no matter what.
Your choice on that one.. but it's pretty clear to me.

Finally there is the presidential election. Like the senate race we have another clear choice, Romney who has actually run businesses and earned an honest living, and Obama who hasn't. People like Obama and Warren live in an ideological world of academics, where every thing looks good on the blackboard but when it comes to the real world, this stuff just doesn't work.

The last debate was a perfect example. When asked about gas prices, Obama didn't answer the question, instead lecturing us about supply and demand, which he had wrong. It is time we actually elect someone who  actually has some experience and not someone who lives in an ivory tower, who talks down to us, who belittles us and who treats every appearance like he is a rock star. Romney is the choice.

That's it for now, I think I will go outside and gaze at my Gadsen flag and clean my cap gun.
