To the Editor:
In your March 11, issue, you printed a letter entitled "We can make a difference" written by Daphne Stevens. While I personally don't subscribe to the theory of "Global Warming" I would like to shed some light on why the name has been changed from "Global Warming" to "Climate Change".
The progressives in America love to use phrases with which people can not refute. When they do not have a winnable argument or actual facts to prove their positions, they will make the argument one in which their opponents can not win because there is no right answer. For example if you are against increased spending on entitlement programs, you must obviously be against helping the poor, and they will then extrapolate the argument that since many recipients of these entitlements are minorities, you must also be racist.
This is the same with the renaming of global warming. It is has been proven, including by some of the initial scientists who proposed the theory of global warming that there is no such thing. There have even been revelations that some data was doctored. Therefore, since the progressives can no longer push their "green" agenda, they needed to rename the "problem". No one can deny there is such a thing as "climate change". Our climate changes every day, yesterday it was 65 today is is 50. Long term, our climate has been changing since the day the earth was made, whichever theory on how the earth was made you subscribe to. We have had warming periods and cooling periods.
Don't be fooled by the new terms, it is still the same old :junk science" being used to produce the progressive agenda so we all live in fear and allow the government to regulate and legislate everything in this country.
