Tea Party Vs Occupy Movement

A recent poll taken by Umass/Lowell shows the Tea party movement has a lower approval rating than the Occupy movement. For those of us involved in the Tea Party this is somewhat disturbing, but not so much of a surprise, at least not to this writer.
The poll published in the Boston Herald shows that:
Half of American adults say they have an unfavorable impression of the Tea Party, while just 29 percent hold a favorable view, according to the poll. A total of 31 percent say they have a “strongly unfavorable” view, indicating the intensity of feeling against the Tea Party movement is relatively high. Just 10 percent view the Tea Party movement in a “strongly favorable” light.
Just 13 percent have a “strongly favorable” impression of the Occupy movement, while 21 percent had a “strongly unfavorable” view - Boston Herald 11/7/2011
I think there are two reasons for this. First the initial love affair with the Occupy movement is beginning to fade where even the mainstream media is beginning to report on some of the negative behavior (putting it mildly) by the occupiers. Those dealing with the disruptions caused my the occupiers are beginning to get tired of it as well.

The reverse of this is that the Tea Party movement has been relatively quiet as of late, and the mainstream media tends to only publish negative stories and outright lies about the Tea Party and not anything positive. We can be pretty certain as the national election season kicks into high gear this trend will continue. One only needs to look at coverage of any of the tea party rallies to see that nothing positive came from the mainstream media. Can you imagine if even one tea partier were defecate in public?

Perhaps this will change now that the the novelty of the Occupy movement is wearing off. The mainstream media won't be able to ignore the negative stories coming from the occupiers.  As the drug crimes, the sexual assaults and the violence (including using children as shields against the police) escalates, as it will, more people will hear of it and the approval ratings will drop further.

The tea party in the meantime has mostly been working behind the scene, keeping a low-profile, but bringing the changes which need to be made. We mustn't get discouraged, change comes slow, but it does come.

The current Occupy Wall Street movement is the best illustration to
date of what President Barack Obama's America looks like. It is an
America where the lawless, unaccomplished, ignorant and incompetent
rule. It is an America where those who have sacrificed nothing pillage
and destroy the lives of those who have sacrificed greatly. It is an
America where history is rewritten to honor dictators, murderers and
thieves. It is an America where violence, racism, hatred, class
warfare and murder are all promoted as acceptable means of overturning
    the American civil society.

It is an America where humans have been degraded to the level of
animals: defecating in public, having sex in public, devoid of basic
hygiene. It is an America where the basic tenets of a civil society,
including faith, family, a free press and individual rights, have been
rejected. It is an America where our founding documents have been
shredded and, with them, every person's guaranteed liberties.

It is an America where, ultimately, great suffering will come to the
American people, but the rulers like Obama, Michelle Obama, Harry
Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Joe Biden, Jesse
Jackson, Louis Farrakhan, liberal college professors, union bosses and
other loyal liberal/Communist Party members will live in opulent
splendor. It is the America that Obama and the Democratic Party have
created with the willing assistance of the American media, Hollywood,
unions, universities, the Communist Party of America, the Black
Panthers and numerous anti-American foreign entities.

Obama has brought more destruction upon this country in four years
than any other event in the history of our nation, but it is just the
beginning of what he and his comrades are capable of. The Occupy Wall
Street movement is just another step in their plan for the
    annihilation of America.

  2. I'm sure as heck glad folks weren't being polled in the years prior to 1776. We must keep in mind that approximately 47% of those eligible to vote are certainly not big fans of Americans opposed to socialism/communism. (Of course we mustn't forget we are on the "front lines" in Massachusetts, where we are blessed with the opportunity to challenge the marxists 24/7, in any direction. "Fix bayonets, let's party!" ;)
